FAQ's about what we do and the services we offer...

What does a wedding dog chaperone/concierge do?

A wedding dog chaperone/concierge looks after your beloved dog before, during and after your wedding day. Services include transport, walk, feeding, toilet breaks, supervision during your wedding day, helping them down the aisle and returning them home or to overnight care.

Can my dog be part of the ceremony?

Yes! Many couples include their dogs as ring bearers, flower pup, aisle companion or simply for photos or guest interaction. Your chaperone/concierge helps coordinate timings and keeps your dog calm, comfortable and safe throughout.

What types of dogs can attend weddings?

All breeds, sizes and ages can attend as long as they are safe, healthy and comfortable around people and new environments. Senior dogs and puppies may need additional help with more toilet breaks, rest and quieter spaces.

How long can my dog stay at the wedding?

This depends on a few things! Firstly, how well your dog will cope in the environment, the venue and how dog friendly it is and the package you select. Some dogs just stay for the ceremony and photos, while others attend for several hours. Most dogs are happiest attending for a shorter portion of the day.

Will my dog get overwhelmed?

A professional chaperone will monitor your dog by looking at stress signals through body language and prioritise your dogs wellbeing. Quiet breaks, walks, water, treats and downtime are built into the day to keep them relaxed.

Can you transport my dog to and from the venue?

Yes of course!  Transport is usually included in most wedding chaperones as we can either pick them up, drop them off at a family's or designated sitters or even if we are transporting them to a dog friendly accommodation with us for overnight care. Dogs travel safely and comfortably in secure vehicles designed for dogs with regular comfort breaks where needed.

What if my dog is nervous or reactive?

Its important to discuss behaviour, triggers and training beforehand so the day can be planned around your dogs needs and to discuss how suitable it would be to have your dog at your wedding. Please get in touch so we can discuss how we can help you.

Do you stay with my dog the entire time?

Yes! Your dog is supervised at all times while in the chaperones care. They are never left unattended.

Can multiple dogs attend?

Absolutely, Many weddings include two or more dogs, we can help manage introductions, walks, photos and ceremony timings.

Can my dog wear a wedding outfit/attire?

Yes! As long as it is comfortable and safe. Lightweight accessories are best like bows, bandanas etc to add to their usual walking tools like a collar for example. Your toilet should still be able to move, breathe and toilet comfortably.

How far in advance should we book?

We can be booked up well in advance. We recommend at least 6-12 months ahead. As were working with dogs we advise to book at your earliest convenience to allow time to build relationships with you and most importantly your dog as trust/bonding is needed from your dog when in our care for them to feel the most comfortable on your big day.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured to transport, care for your dog through the day/overnight, walk and handle at venues with liability insurance. We are DSB checked and qualified in K9 First Aid.

Can guests interact with our dog?

Most definitely,  but we will manage interactions so your dog doesn't become overwhelmed or overtired.

Can you help with photos?

Yes, we assist photographers by keeping your dog engaged, positioned and camera ready with treats, toys and attention cues.

What if our dog gets messy/muddy?

We always carry towels, mud daddy, dog friendly wipes, to keep your dog looking their best and wedding ready.

Do you offer meet and greets before the wedding day?

Yes! Theres a 'Hazel Hike'  included in all packages to meet in person with additional meet ups available to book if required for your dog to feel more comfortable. We usually discuss routines, behaviour, timings and expectations.
